RESEARCH

Pilot phase international research program is the primary product of the VISION Era-Net. Its implementation provides VISION Era-Net partners with hands-on experience on European joint programming in policy research, as well as insights on effective research funding strategies.

Under the theme "Collaborative and open innovation: Future challenges for national innovation policies in the emerging European Research Area," three projects were funded through this scheme. The projects ran between September 2007 and May 2008.

Projects offered cutting edge perspectives on open innovation in Europe, and supported future innovation policy development. All project teams were cross-national, and examined the transformation of the innovation process from a uniquely European perspective. The results were discussed with policy makers in special seminars, and are available from this website.

The VISION Era-Net partners also contracted a study to compare and analyse recent developments in national governance structures of the partnering countries. The study was conducted by Gaia Consulting together with Dialogic Innovatie & Interactie B.V. The aim of the study is to open discussion on governance issues and to explore possible further knowledge needs on innovation policy.
